“There is a brilliant, positive, powerful person that lives within every one of us, and it takes support, focus, and confidence to allow that person to manifest within ourselves.”

Hello! I’m Brent. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate* with a Master of Counseling degree from the University of Houston. I am a sex therapy and supportive communication informed therapist, and I’m an emerging leader with the Texas Counselors for Social Justice.

The part I play in your therapeutic process is to use supportive and person-centered approaches to help you work through negative thinking, manage difficult feelings, expand your self-awareness and improve your self-esteem. There is a brilliant, positive, powerful person that lives within every one of us, and it takes support, focus, and confidence to allow that person to manifest within ourselves. I can provide that support, help refine that focus, and guide you towards that confidence. I will help you set your own goals at your own pace, and we will determine the best therapeutic path for you, leaving all judgments and preconceived notions at the door.

While my experience and training afford a special insight into the issues facing LGBTQ+ clients, clients seeking to explore their gender identity, and clients addressing matters related to atypical sexual interests, I believe my therapeutic approach can benefit anyone. No matter your age, gender identity, race, sexual orientation, religion, and certainly no matter what you may feel you need to address or overcome, I am available to work with anyone who feels my therapeutic approach could benefit them.

Everyone has a myriad of traits that they factor into their identity, and counselors are no different. I identify as a dad, a husband, a pet owner, gender-neutral, gay, and a gamer!

Fun Facts: I love to hike. There’s nothing like fresh air and green scenery to rejuvenate the mind. I read a lot. I think reading is great therapy, and I will probably recommend a good book or two!
