Yoga for Healing
A yoga for healing practice includes an intentional style of teaching yoga. It creates a supportive environment for gentle movement and breath, all conducive to healing and growth. This allows for creating a rich connection and awareness between one’s mind and body. It can additionally help to melt away any disconnect and disempowerment that trauma experiences often create for us.
Q: I already have a primary therapist. Could I still see my primary therapist and see you? Absolutely. Whether your primary therapist is one of the clinicians at Ajana Therapy and Clinical Services or not, Leah will be able to design a treatment plan for you. The plan will supplement, and does not conflict with, the current treatment you’re receiving through your primary therapist.
Q: What is the duration of a healing yoga session? Each session will span from 45-60 minutes.
Q: How will I know if I am a good fit for yoga for healing? Healing yoga is a good fit for anyone who has experienced a disconnect from the self brought on by depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, disordered eating, substance use, etc.
Q: Do I need to have any prior experience with yoga to participate? Not at all. Healing yoga is suited for the most seasoned of yogis as well as for those that are new to yoga. Leah will meet you where you are at to customize a plan tailored to your comfort level and yoga experience.
Q: Can you do healing yoga for a group? Yes, Leah can customize a healing yoga session for you and your group. Contact us for more information, including group pricing.
