Hey there! I’m Brittney Guembes, and I’m an LPC Associate in Texas, supervised by Jessica Eiseman, LPC-S. I’m here to provide a safe and supportive space for individuals navigating anxiety, self-compassion challenges, and cultural identity issues within the Latinx community. Do you ever catch yourself using words like “shouldn’t,” “can’t,” or “never” when you’re thinking about your feelings? Or maybe when you make a mistake, is your first reaction to talk down to yourself? If you notice your anxiety is on the rise or becoming more frequent, you’re definitely not alone.
Life can feel pretty overwhelming sometimes, and it might seem like you’re navigating through it all by yourself. But hey, guess what? You don’t have to! As a Latina therapist, I totally get the unique struggles of balancing cultural expectations with personal growth in today’s world. I’m all about being there for my clients, especially during those difficult moments or big life transitions.
I truly believe that everyone has the power within themselves to make positive changes. No matter how old or experienced you are, life’s journey is all about learning and growing. Sure, it’s not always easy, but together, we can turn those negative thoughts into positive ones and make some serious progress.
I’m here to lend an ear and provide a safe space for you to vent or process through past experiences that might still be weighing you down. And hey, I know life can feel pretty sucky sometimes, but trust me, it won’t always be like this. Healing can be tough, but with me by your side, you won’t have to go through it alone. Let’s team up and start making those positive changes in your life today. You got this!
Get to know me: I am a graduate of the University of St. Thomas Houston, with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I also graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of St. Thomas Houston (Go Celts!). I have been at Ajana since my internship days. I am a native Houstonian, who loves all things Houston, from the sports teams (Go Astros!) to the food. When I am not in session, you can find me watching Sci-Fi/superhero movies, listening to music, reading, or playing with my dog.
