adolescent therapist houston

Suzanne graduated from Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas with a BA in psychology. With her bachelor’s degree, she provided social services in group home, psychiatric, homeless youth, and juvenile corrections settings.

During her pursuit of a MS degree in clinical psychology with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy, Suzanne served as a research assistant, co-author, and group facilitator of “Families Enacting Divorce: A Show of Hope,” which was contracted, approved, and utilized by the Texas State Attorney General’s office to meet court-mandated counseling requirements for families experiencing divorce. Suzanne graduated from Our Lady Of the Lake University – Houston with extensive training in collaborative, narrative, solution focused, and family systems methodologies. She has since expanded her toolbox with CBT, DBT, EFT, and trauma-informed modalities.

She served her practicum hours at The Community Clinic in Oak Ridge North, seeing clients aged 5 – 68 years. Suzanne earned her internship hours for full licensure in psychiatric, community support, and IOP/ PHP settings.

Since full licensure in 2012, Suzanne has served as Director of two IOP/PHP programs, provided individual and family therapy, and worked with Harris, Montgomery, and Austin County court systems to facilitate family functioning during and following divorce, custody, and reunification cases. She also cherishes the opportunity to guide families through a healthy divorce that minimizes legal involvement.

Suzanne provides sincere support and effective intervention to individuals and families navigating the following: neurodiversity, mood/ anxiety disorders, personality disorders, life transitions, identity work, family conflict, multigenerational living, parenting challenges, family estrangement, and grief.

In her free time, Suzanne fosters kittens, reads a variety of books, and enjoys yoga and sound baths.
